Many celebrity brides like to have another celebrity by their side as their bridesmaid; it’s the ultimate accessory – second only to having your own daughter as flower girl! Of course, even non-celebrity brides sometimes have celebrity friends, but having a celebrity bridesmaid can take the limelight of the bride just a little – like when actress Kate Bosworth did the duty when her friend got married in Sydney. This is why, generally, celebs seem to stick to their own.
A-List Bridesmaids:
So which A-List bridesmaids have stepped up to the mark in recent years? Britney Spears did her bridesmaid duty for bride Laura Lynne Covington. Surprisingly she behaved herself very well! Jessica Biel also did a sterling job as bridesmaid – despite the fact that the bride dressed her in the most unflattering bridesmaid dress. Well, who can blame her? And Kate Moss stood next to her brave friend, Charlotte Tilbury, recently for her wedding in Ibiza.

The trend these days is for the celebrity bride to design her bridesmaid dresses herself – with the help of a top designer, of course. When Jill Stonerock married The OC and Gossip Girl creator Josh Schwartz, she designed the green silk and georgette chiffon bridesmaid dresses with designer Brian Reyes, with each dress being slightly different in colour and style. Celebrity bridesmaid Rachel Bilson acted as her maid of honour.
Celebrity Bridesmaids, Flower Girls and Page Boys:
As celebrity weddings would not be complete without an entourage of bridesmaids, the flower girl remains as popular as ever. The flower girl is usually a niece or young daughter of a family friend, but with more and more weddings taking place after the arrival of children, the flower girl is just as likely to be the bride or bridesmaid’s own offspring. When Milla Jovovich married last year, she dressed her 20 month daughter, Ever Gabo, in a ballerina’s tutu for her flower girl outfit. Not to be outdone, page boys feature strongly in celebrity weddings too. Often celebrity page boys are dressed in a cute little outfit to match the celebrity groom!
Celebrity Bridesmaid Gifts:
So what would be a suitable gift for a celebrity bridesmaid? Nothing run-of-the-mill for sure. To make it really special it would have to be a personalised gift – maybe an
engraved compact mirror gift, or
engraved champagne. For the flower girl, it has to be a personalized teddy bear – so cute!
