Wedding Wine Tips

Weddings are pretty special and often quite expensive affairs, especially if you have many wedding guests and a large family who make up the bridal party. If you are having a sit down meal, you will probably need some wedding wine for your guests to enjoy, obviously all the guests except Muslims, expectant mothers and the designated driver of course.

How Much and How Many?

Well, first thing is first; what is your top end budget? We do not wish you to get into any more debt than you may already be in (I know we are being presumptuous and it really is none of our business). However, this is where we suggest you need to focus your attention to begin with when it comes to buying wedding wine. Secondly, how many wedding guests are you expecting? You will comfortably get 3 glasses of wine per bottle. A good way to estimate the amount of wine your wedding guests will consume is 2 glasses per guests you are expecting. This includes elderly members of your party, young members including the page boys and the flower girls too, as well as those designated drivers and expectant mums. If you account two glasses of your wedding wine, you will ensure you have either just the right amount or only a little bit left over. It is always better to have too much wedding wine than not enough!!

What Type of Wedding Wine Would You Like?

There are a number of options when it comes to choosing your wedding wine; after you know how many guests to expect and how many wine bottles they are likely to consume, as well as your budget you can take your pick.

Budget Wine

If you are on a tighter budget than you are hoping for and need a large amount of wine for your wedding then visit a local cash and carry and see what they have on offer. They usually have a wine “expert” on hand to help if you get stuck. Keep an eye on the prices though, which are usually displayed by the wine. Check out the bargain isle or the end of lines for the best deals.

If you don’t have a cash and carry local to you, then visit your local large supermarket for your wedding wine, they will have a large selection to choose from and you can mix and match your wine – not every bottle has to be the same!

Personalised Wedding Wine

If you are happy with the budget for your wedding wine, then why not consider getting some personalised wine instead? Hopefully, you are only planning to get married once! A bottle of personalised wine with the name of the bride and groom, as well as the date of the wedding on a label will look fabulous attached to the bottles. Personalised wine gifts will look perfect on the wedding tables whilst eating your meal and we are sure your guests will appreciate the extra special touch – they may even decide to take one empty one home as a souvenir! Personalised wine allows you put your own touch to an otherwise everyday item to allow it to be a proper part of your wedding day.

All in all when purchasing wedding wine, think of how much you are willing to spend. If your venue doesn’t insist you use their wine you could go for personalised wine as an extra special touch to your wedding day. Whatever you choose, ensure you allow two glasses per wedding guest to ensure you have enough wine to last with the meal or buffet.
